ABOUT DRIVER & TEAM INFO
THE TEAM - #85R - TEAM BGR
THE DRIVER - #85R – BRANDON RUCH
So as you already know, my name is Brandon and I am 8 years old. I will be turning 9 this August. I have many interests…. but I love some more than others. My two greatest passions are RACING and HOCKEY! These two sports pretty much occupy all of my spare time. I am in grade 3. I won 1st place at the Legion last year for Public Speaking, competing in the grade 1-3 level with my speech about fishing. I will also be competing at the regional level with my speech. I love to learn at school and I love hanging out with my friends and my family. I also love playing sports. I love playing hockey and for the 2010/11 season I was on the Port Colborne Novice Sailors Rep team as a team captain and we had a very successful season as we are to 2010/11 Novice B West OMHA Finalists! This upcoming year, for the 2011/12 season I will be playing AAA Hockey in Niagara and I am very excited about this. I have a real passion for hockey and this has helped me to de All of the other things that I love to do involve racing to one extent or another. I love to ride my snowmobile around as well as my ATV. I am now going into my 3rd year of racing after having a very successful 2nd year and winning the Novice 2 Points Championship. I have been “racing” several different machines around my parents’ one acre Thank you for taking the time to read a bit about me. I really want to let everybody know who I am and what makes me tick. We feel it’s important for sponsors to know who it is that they’re sponsoring because integrity is important to us. My parents always teach me to be who I am and to never try to be somebody that I’m not….this is why I always put my whole heart into everything that I do and every relationship that I have. I know the importance of being the best I can be at everything that I do and I take this rule with me everywhere…..I ALWAYS GO “FULL GAS” (as I like to call it). So please, if you’re interested in becoming a part of TEAM BGR in any way….just contact us and let us know. We’ll get back to you ASAP! We really want to make our TEAM grow.
velop my sportsmanship and good attitude towards competition. I plan to apply these skills in my Karting season so you know that you will be sponsoring a very well rounded young man. The 2010-11 season was my second year playing Novice Rep Hockey for the PCMHA. In my second year I was chosen to be the Captain of our team. This has truly helped me to develop some leadership skills and I am very proud to have this role on our team. Last year, in the 2009-10 season, my PCMHA Novice Rep team went all the way to the OMHA finals as well as to the Niagara District Finals and we are very proud finalists of both- even though we didn`t win the championship we are very proud of our accomplishment. Once again, I was lucky to be a part of another team this year to go again to the OMHA campionship finals-----once again we were Finalists and once again I am very proud of this. We were also finalists in the Niagara District ``A`` division Championships.
yard at home since I was 2 years old; this is when I got my very first ATV… it was called the Lil’Quad and while it was only a 6V battery operated quad it made my parents realize that I have a knack for racing and great instincts. Here my parents thought they were going to have to chase me all over the place to make sure that I didn’t run over the dog or cat, or run into the fence or something like that. But that wasn’t the case at all as they quickly learned that I had great spatial judgment for my age. It seemed that I always knew when I had to stop or turn and I always did it at the right time to avoid any obstacles that were in my way. This is, of course, how it all got started. My parents just couldn’t keep me away from it!!! I loved it then and I love it still today… actually, even more today because now I GO FAST!!!!!
I got a 120cc Arctic Cat snowmobile when I turned 3 years old, a 50cc ATV at 4 and a 50cc Honda dirt bike at 6. When I got the ATV I officially began yearning for racing. I would ride my ATV around the yard every day and this really helped me to develop my hand-eye co-ordination. Then in the winter I would race my snowmobile around and sometimes my ATV too!
I love racing around on my dirt bike, but I really prefer to have 4 wheels on the ground which is what I have with my ATV and Kart. I plan to sell my dirt bike this summer so that I can put that money into my go-kart. I have excellent control with all of my machines when starting, stopping, turning, etc, as well as a very strong desire to win. I have had lots of
practice with passing both on the straights and in the corners when I’ve raced my Dad around the last few years. My Dad would ride a little 70cc 3-wheeler he was given and I would race him on my ATV or dirt bike. We would go around for as long as we possibly could. It was always so much fun,
and I became so good that my Dad couldn’t catch up to me anymore and I would always beat him! I could race for hours. Every summer, my Mom & Dad & I go to as many dirt track races as we can get to. I've been going to the races with them since I was a baby. They said I would never go to sleep though because I was always so amazed by the cars that I would just sit there and watch. Then, when the race was over, I would cry because I always wanted them to race more! Well, I don't cry about it anymore, but I still want the races to keep going. I just have so much fun that I don't want it to end.
